the Holy Grail job did indeed go to someone else, but the company has offered me a lesser part time position, so I'm going to be back to being a breakfast cook - totally ironic, since that's how I started out cooking eons ago. I'm grateful, and also hoping that someone else takes a transfer or maternity leave or some other thing... I'll be in a far better position to move up then! Heh heh heh.. Not holding my breath though. This really is the kind of job one does NOT want to lose.
In other news, nothing much. The weather has been reasonably nice, I am continuing to clean out my basement, which is getting there, but has a way to go yet.
I have today free, so I may make some soap - been threatening to do that for a while.. but sales have been sluggish, so making new inventory to just sit on shelves isn't firing my pistons, if you know what I mean. I'd rather knit little things for Forrest. (although, my latest attempt, making him a little pea coat, failed miserably - have not experienced a knitting disaster of that caliber in YEARS). I am also doing a little bit of organizing my food storage. I try to keep stuff on hand in the event of personal economic strife. Having a two month minimum food supply in my pantry goes a LONG way to alleviate stress.
I got a lovely note from the folks at the Springfield Humane Society, thanking me for our little donation. They currently have 7 dogs and 61 cats in residence. Yes, Sixty One Cats.. so please, if you would like to adopt or even sponsor a cat, now is probably a great time. They are also happy to have volunteers come in to help the animals stay socialized, nothing like a bit of purr therapy or walking the dogs, get some fresh air!
Hope you're having a fantastic day.. whatever
