Still haven't been able to decipher the photo gallery feature here, so I can't show you the neat-o pics I took while cutting the Baa-ars. It wasn't really spectacular to see, but as we've established.. ordinary is just fine. We like ordinary!!
and because I'm not spending a lot of time here upstairs (where the computer lives) (no, I do not have a laptop) I have been remiss at keeping this site growing. I've been passing my days down in the 55 degree basement, cleaning. At the rate I'm going, it is going to be another 6 months before I'm done down there, but for now, at least it is COOL.
The hold-up has been that I will open a box to see what's in it, and then "OOOH!! I haven't seen this for YEARS!! I forgot I HAD this!! OOOOH! and there goes an hour while I revisit memory lane before getting over it and tossing the box contents. I've turned up some cool finds, like the sterling & gold tennis racket keychain I got my late ex as a wedding gift, and the 3 balls of superwash yarn that is now a new sweater for Forrest, who is currently the size of person who only needs 3 balls of yarn for a whole sweater. Hee!
Mostly though. the whole decluttering operation has been productive and positive. I feel a great sense of lightness (which is impossible to explain) from shedding all these things, stuff I loved in a past life. I am not the same person I was, I have not yet reached the stage of destashing the yarn collection, but when I do get there, it will be Epic. My yarn stash reached Obscene years ago, and although economics has slowed it down considerably, I still somehow manage to add to it. Fortunately, I have some good friends who will help me repurpose a lot of it. And there are quite a few good charities out there in need of donations of materials.
Back to the batcave. Stay cool, wherever you are!!
