The sun came out next day, and it was lovely.. but we still had no power for three days. Ugh. My refrigerator sure got a good cleaning out, however unintended.. I was able to go grocery shopping but had to take many detours around the flood damage. It is positively heartbreaking, to drive past once lovely farms only to see that all their soil has washed away, or to see homes that used to have a garage where there is now an ugly scar in its place. One homestead I drove past had a whole winter's worth of neatly stacked firewood in the yard.. most of the wood is still there, but it isn't anywhere near neat anymore.
If you're a Vermonter, you're already doing this - but next time you grocery shop, buy a few extra items to leave in the box for the food shelves - there is NEED for those who can give to give.. And please don't forget the animals, they need your help too.
I've still managed to make a few batches of soap this week - Sonny's Garden Bar and some Lemongrass. I am using the new labels from Signgirl, which look really good. You're going to love the little wooly bear on there - cute!!
I have a few ideas for the holidays, never too early to start thinkin'... so stay tuned.. you'll be the first to hear about it!
