It comes as no big surprise that our furry little pal down in Pennsylvania has predicted another 6 weeks of winter. No early spring. No such luck!
Most of us have had to endure a killer winter, between the Polar Vortex (vortex, vortex, vortex!) and snow, sleet & ice in places those have no business being - an ice storm, in Atlanta?!! Are you kidding me?! ... we are all ready for some non greenhouse tulips, non greenhouse daffodils and good ol' worm eating robins. At this point, I'm ready to hug a turkey vulture if he'll just show up and indicate warmer weather!!
Pretty quiet on the soapmaking front here.. I've been dabbling here n' there with lip balms and goofing around making my own candles, but mostly, the name of the game here in Mt Holly has been Just Stay Warm! Some days the house was hovering in the low 40's, high 30's... Beth, Bounce, Obie, Rico & I spent quite a few hours keeping close to the woodstove. Brrr!
But inevitably, days are getting longer and soon the winter's grip will slacken... Old Man Winter will throw a few springtime tantrums before he leaves for another year.. and we'll get to walk outside without fourteen pounds of layering.. just in time to start swatting mosquitoes!!
