so many people have lost their homes, lost everything, lost loved ones this past year. We lost my Dad in February, Mum has to face the coming years alone, but she is thankful for her remaining family and faces each day with God's strength and courage. My brother Dan has lost his independence, has spent the past two months in hospitals as medical professionals TRY to get to the bottom of why his body is failing him. But he has hope for a future. A couple of days ago I learned that my cousin lost her left arm in a car accident. But she's alive.
Amidst all this loss, we all have reason to be thankful.. for what we have, for who we are, for the days ahead - full of potential and challenge and opportunity. Today is not a day for loss, in spite of all... it is a day for being grateful. And for that I am thankful.
