today we (meaning the dogs & I) took a ride out to Ayer, MA to pick up some much needed oils at Catania Spagna in order to make more soap. It was a blast of a trip.. long enough to be fun, not so long as to be dull. However. My ridiculous GPS device sent me TO the place along all little side roads and thru towns and parks.. then when I told it "Go Home" it decided that all highway driving was the way to go. Ugh. Mostly I prefer highway, but there were some farmstands I passed on the way there that I really wanted to visit on my way back!! I'm still waiting for the first sweet corn of the season. But I am mostly definitely not one of those people who're gifted with a built in sense of direction. I tend to get lost on my way to the garage, if you know what I mean!! The garage that sits directly opposite my front door.. that garage.
The two batches of Baa-ars are cut and curing. I did take pictures while I was cutting.. will get those up asap. My house smells absolutely divine.. I have Baa-ars, Lavender Lime, Oatmeal Honey and Sweet Cheeks all curing, all wafting their delicious aromas around.
and now that I've got oil to use, I can whip up a few more batches this weekend. Heh heh heh. The lovely and talented and way-more-with-it-than-me Signgirl has requested a pumpkin soap, pointing out that pumpkin is extremely good for the skin, I am intrigued. That's on tap for the next few days, and there will be a few batches of "oldy's" that need restocking too, will probably start by making some of Sonny's Garden Bar, a spicy cornmeal filled soap that does a great job of scrubbing a gardener's hardworking hands.
I sure am having fun with this site, hope you are t
